To thank some of our most valued clients for their continued support the company decided to organise a corporate event as a way of saying thank you. I was put in charge of finding a suitable activity, and after speaking to a couple of clients they all seemed to love the idea of trying a 4x4 off-road driving experience. It was something I'd always wanted to try too, so after getting the green light from the boss I got it all booked in.
On the day of the event we went down to the venue early so that we could meet the clients and get them signed in straight away. It also gave us a chance to eye up the course too, and it looked seriously tricky! As clients started to arrive we got them signed in and gave them a run through of what the 4x4 driving experience would consist of. Everybody seemed really excited to try off-roading, and after we'd completed a short briefing we split up and headed out to the vehicles.
Before I booked the off-road driving experience I'd checked the venue had enough 4x4s for us all, and when we arrived their fleet of six Discoverys were lined up ready to go. There were more than enough vehicles so we split up into small groups to take on the course. The course covered a huge section of the surrounding countryside, and we all headed out at the same time which made things even more exciting.
The instructors taught us loads of different driving techniques, and as we worked our way round the course we climbed hills, drove through ditches and even crossed a river! Even though we took it in turns to drive it's just as much fun being a passenger, and when you're not at the wheel it gives you a chance to size up some of the obstacles.
When we got back to the 4x4 centre the feedback from the clients was nothing but positive. Everybody made it round in one piece and everybody loved it! Our off-road driving experience was a total hit and we'll definitely be back for our next team building event.
